Scholarship Applications for 2017 Deadline to apply is (June 1st)

College Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

To be eligible for the Broward County Council of Professional Fire Fighters Scholarship, an applicant must: 

  1. Be a child of a current or retired member of the Broward County Council  
  2. Be a current resident of the State of Florida and U.S. Citizen 
  3. Be a graduating senior of a private or public high school 
  4. Have a high school grade point average of at least 2.5 (grade C or above) 
  5. Have a conduct grade point average of 3.0 or above 
  6. Have been accepted to a post-­-secondary institution 

Please submit the following items by June 1st. Applications postmarked after this date will not be accepted.  

  1. Completed application form (Typed) 
  2. High School Transcripts (Sealed) 
  3. Copy of acceptance letter from post-­-secondary institution 
  4. Letter of recommendation (Signed) 
  5. Personal Statement (Typed) 

6. Scholarship Agreement (Signed) 

Fire Academy Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

To be eligible for the Greater Broward Firefighter Charities Fire Academy Scholarship, an applicant must: 

  1. Be a current Explorer for a Fire Department in Broward County and/or a child of a current or retired member of the Broward County Council of Professional Firefighters.  
  2. Be a current resident of the State of Florida and U.S. Citizen; 
  3. Be a graduating senior of a private or public high school with a GPA average of at least 2.5.   

Please submit the following items by June 1st. Applications postmarked after this date will not be accepted.  

  1. Completed Application (Typed) 
  2. High School Transcripts (Sealed) 
  3. Letter of recommendations (Signed). One letter from the organization you are an explorer with and another letter from a non-­-relative  
  4. Personal Statement (Typed) igned Scholarship Agreement 

Fallen Firefighter Surviving Child Fire Academy Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

To be eligible for the Greater Broward Firefighter Charities Fire Academy Scholarship, an applicant must: 

  1. Be a surviving child of a Broward County Council Fallen Firefighter who died in the line of duty or while on active duty. 
  2. Be a current resident of the State of Florida and U.S. Citizen. 
  3. Be a graduating senior of a private or public high school or possess a GED. 

Please submit the following item. Applications will be accepted year round: 

  1. Completed Application (Typed). 
  2. Letter of recommendation (Signed).  
  3. Personal Statement (Typed). 

4. Signed Scholarship Agreement. 

U.S Military Fire Academy Scholarship Application Package

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

To be eligible for the Greater Broward Firefighter Charities Fire Academy Scholarship, an applicant must: 

  1. Be active U.S. Military or Veteran who's been honorably discharged.  
  2. Be a child or sibling of a current or retired member of the Broward County Council of Professional Firefighters.  
  3. Be a current resident of the State of Florida and U.S. Citizen; 

Please submit the following items by June 1st. Applications postmarked after this date will not be accepted.  

  1. Completed Application (Typed) 
  2. Copy of DD form 214 or current Military ID.  
  3. Letter of recommendations (Signed).  
  4. Personal Statement (Typed) 

5. Signed Scholarship Agreement
